Description of Responsibilities: - Ensure Team Meets Production Target (Helios, CyTOF XT, HTI, Deuterium) and Spare parts Target - Take leadership role in final test area resolving day-to-day issues and lead Daily Management Meeting - Maintain continuous and smooth flow of testing by identifying bottleneck, reduce MUDA - Help Production Manager to Implement 6S, Daily Management and strive for continuous improvement (Kaizen)and reduce cycle time - Ensure Train and Cross train for Helios, Hyperion Tissue Imager (HTI), XTi, and CyTOF XT - Ensure that the team member follows inspection record, issue tracker process and NC process in CQ - Assist manufacturing engineers with troubleshooting production, equipment and quality problems to reduce lost production time and product waste. - Lead and Maintain an organized and safe work area (6S) to include workstations, equipment & walkways. - Maintain a positive team moral with an open atmosphere of team work and foster positive relations among FT Technician team member - Work with Calibration and Maintenance Technician and Final Test team to schedule preventative maintenance for test jigs, make sure tools are calibrated and chemicals are not expired in accordance with ISO 13485 - Enforce Standard Bio Health and Safety policies and report violations or unsafe acts (participate in completing Accident Investigation Report) as well as identify equipment, facility or other hazards. - Assist with on-boarding new employees and socializing with Standard Bio culture - Perform complete hands-on assembly of electrical and mechanical modules if needed Qualification:   - Technical diploma or degree (electrical or mechanical) combined with relevant work experience in instrument testing - More than 10 years of experience in hands-on assembly of complicated electrical, mechanical and optical assemblies - including cables, electrical power distribution modules, and vacuum systems, delicate ion-optical modules, precision piezo ceramic/stepper motors and Laser. - Lean methodology experience and mindset. - Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and other applications - Exceptional troubleshooting skill with electrical, mechanical, and optical components - Ability to teach junior staff and to transfer experience through informal presentations and on-the-job training - Balance priorities while exercising timely and good judgment in day-to-day production decisions with the Production Manager - Open to new ideas and concepts - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Proficient in Quality Management System Working Conditions: - Occasional heavy lifting of up to 50lb   Apply online with your resume!     The Company is committed to providing an inclusive and barrier free recruitment process to applicants with accessibility needs in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). Standard BioTools is looking for a Field Applications Specialist II based in Singapore.  You will provide remote and on-site customer training and applications support, facilitate instrument sales by conducting technical seminars and product demonstrations, and manage customer sites with the goal of maximizing use of the CyTOF® Mass Cytometry platform in the field. If you enjoy bringing new technologies to market, embrace challenge, and work well in a flexible and multidisciplinary environment, then this position may be for you.   RESPONSIBILITIES: - Conduct on-site and in-house customer training courses. - Provide phone-, email-, and in-person customer applications support, including troubleshooting issues related to user technical skill, instrument operation, experimental design, and data analysis. - Assist in the creation and review of technical materials (manuals, application notes, presentations). - Conduct new product evaluation/testing with R&D and beta test sites. - Provide constructive personal and customer feedback to R&D team. - Create and maintain support information in the company enterprise database. - Communicate project status, issues to management, users and staff. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • M.S. in life sciences is required. Ph.D. and strong immunology background preferred. - 4+ years of hands-on experience in biochemistry, molecular biology, or cell biology lab is required. - Previous experience in field applications support is desired. - Skilled in troubleshooting software, instrumentation, applications, and analysis of flow cytometry and/or mass spectrometry platforms. - High level bioinformatics skills are highly desirable. - Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint. - Able to travel at least 50% of the time. - Excellent organizational skills and technical writing ability. - Strong communication skills and experience delivering scientific presentations. - Commitment to customer service. - Independent thinker with excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills. - Collaborative attitude within and outside own discipline.
