Standard BioTools is looking for motivated Field Service Engineer to deliver exceptional service across Standard BioTools’ portfolio of products in Mass Cytometry systems, serving as the primary customer contact on technical and service-related issues.

 

He/she must be able to troubleshoot complex problems within an operational interplay of software, hardware, and chemistry. He/she must be committed to total customer satisfaction, with the ability to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal skills and solid judgment. A team player is essential as this position will have a great degree of overlap with various interdisciplinary groups within the organization.

 

This position is a field-based regional position, but travel throughout North America is to be expected.

 

Preferred location: Massachusetts or within a 2 hours drive of the area.

 

Description:

 

  • BS in Science or Engineering discipline with some (preferably 2 years) of industry experience in the service and/or support of analytical instruments and/or combination of experience and education/training.
  • Technical support/Field service experience, especially related to ICP-MS, a plus.
  • Good working knowledge of optical, electrical and mechanical sub-systems.
  • Expertise in employing root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
    Prior work with Life Science instrumentation, or any other Laboratory Capital Equipment a plus. 
  • Salesforce familiarity a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Good customer facing skills
  • Good initiative, critical thinker, self motivated and willing to learn. 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Science or Engineering discipline with 2 years of industry experience in the service and/or support of analytical instruments and/or combination of experience and education/training.
  • Technical support/service experience a plus.
  • Substantial working knowledge of optical, electrical and mechanical sub-systems.
  • Expertise in employing root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
    Prior work with Life Science instrumentation, or any other Laboratory Capital Equipment a plus. 
  • ServiceMax familiarity a plus.
  • Mass Spec experience a plus.
  • Understanding of physics a plus.
  • Preventive Maintenance, any other repairs.
  • Vacuum system experience (ultra-high vacuum systems) a plus.
  • Experience with using oscilloscope and multimeter a plus.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Good customer facing skills
  • Good initiative, critical thinker, self motivated and willing to learn.
